Happy New Year!

Wow it has been a while since I have posted anything!! The holidays are crazy busy! I feel like after the holidays are busy as well, trying to get back in the swing of things. I just wanted to write a quick one since I haven't for a while and I hope to find time to write more. 2011 is now over and 2012 has begun. What an awesome time of the year to be able to reflect on the past and look forward to the future! I hope everyone had a great New Years and is ready to start 2012 because it's here whether we like it or not.

I just wanted to briefly express my gratitude for the Book Of Mormon! In October my Bishop challenged us to read it before the end of the year. My initial thought was "wow I can not read that fast, especially the Book of Mormon. How does he expect us to gain anything from it when we have to read it so fast to be done in 2 months." Even though those were my thoughts I decided to take on the challenge. At first it was hard and I fell behind the schedule many times, but a couple weeks into I finally decided I needed to really commit and I need to stay on schedule. I made sure that I read at least 7 pages a day, no exceptions. Once I fully committed I swear I jumped from 2 Nephi to Alma in 2 days, so it felt that way anyway. What really amazed me though is that I was understanding it. I, for once in my life, was actually following the story line of Book of Mormon. Through my readings I have gained such a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and the truthfulness of it! It has brought so much peace and comfort into my life! The Book of Mormon not only testifies the truthfulness of this Gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ but it testifies to each of us individually, what we need to be doing in our lives. I find it so cool that as we are reading and understanding what we read we can also have personal revelations come to our mind. The Book of Mormon as opened my eyes to the beauty and truthfulness of this Gospel. IT IS TRUE and IT IS FOR US! It testifies that over and over again!! I will always be grateful for my bishop challenging us to read it. It brought so many blessings to my life. They weren't huge blessings but I noticed a difference in my attitude. I was able to easily be comforted and happy. I've had a lot of experiences that I don't think would have happened if I wasn't ready for them and by reading the Book of Mormon I was ready for them! I wish I could write my experiences on this blog but I don't feel like I should, so if you're interested I would love to tell you, but if not that's fine too haha.

I Challenge you, if you aren't already reading it, to read the Book of Mormon. Set a deadline and DO IT! :)

  2. I made my deadline as well a few days early. I am excited this year to be discussing it in SS. To try and get more out of it and others oppinions will certainly help.
