Ammon

As I was reading in the Book of Mormon tonight I realized it had been a while since I have posted anything.  I decided to pick out something to write about within the section I was reading.  I am reading in Alma ch.18, this chapter and some before and after are talking about Ammon, who is an amazing example.  Little side note before I start though, every time I read I am amazed at how much more I understand the Book of Mormon and how much better I can follow along, but at the same time in those moments that I think I'm understanding a lot I start to realize just how much I still don't know.  I don't think that feeling will every fade, I think we will always feel that there is more we can get from it, that's the purpose of it BUT I really can't wait for the day when I can remember WHERE all the cool stories I read are located instead of just vaguely remembering that I read them.  I read some powerful versus but a couple days later I tend to forget them and replace them with new ones.  It makes me want to just keep reading and reading and reading and reading and reading until I can finally remember the order and all the small stories that are contained in this powerful book!  Alright back to Ammon.....Ammon, one of the Sons of Mosiah became King Lamoni's servant (king of Ishmael.)  These chapters that talk about Ammon are great scriptures to read and learn from his example.  King Lamoni was astonished with how obedient Ammon was.  He never before had met a servant so obedient, hard working and powerful as Ammon.  Vs. 10 of chapter 18 King Lamoni says about Ammon " Surely there has not been any servant among all my servants that has been so faithful as this man; for even he doth remember all my commandments to execute them."  Ammon also shows an amazing example of missionary work in these chapters.

I'm sure everyone knows this story and considers it old news but it is all new to me.  For some reason stories just didn't click with me when I was younger and I could not for the life of me ever remember them or tell people my favorite one.  I'm finally coming around though, no worries, better late then never haha.  It's been an awesome experience developing my own testimony of the Book of Mormon and really discovering for myself, the stories that are in this book and really trying to find my favorite ones!  Some powerful messages are contained in this wonderful book!
