About the blog

So since I moved to Texas I have had A LOT of time on my hands! About a month and a half ago I decided that I should be making better use of all the time because it wasn't going to last forever! I told myself that I could at least take an hour out of each day to study, pray and ponder. I told myself that during that hr out of the day I could give up my phone, facebook, pinterest, etc. It's kind of ridiculous how hard it was to just put my phone aside and not even look at it for an hr. Now I can't say that I have been completely faithful to this idea, some days I would lack and other days I would do really well! Since I started I have definitely been able to tell a difference in my life! I have felt guidance, comfort, and happiness. It's amazing how simple it is to just take a short amount of time out of your life to just study, pray and ponder but yet we have such a hard time doing it! I don't understand why it's so hard for us especially when we have moments or times like I am having here where I've really felt the blessings of doing those things. We are only human though and we can only do our best. As I look to my right, I see a ton of books I have stacked up that I have been reading. They are all church books and I have used them to read and ponder over. I will probably be sharing some of the interesting things I have read out of those books as well as thoughts that just came to me as I was reading. Out of all the books I was reading I had yet to pick up the Book Of Mormon and read it. I would read short verses or chapters but I wasn't really reading it! Last Sunday at church my bishop challenged my whole ward to read the Book of Mormon by December 31st. That is not a very long time, especially for someone like me who reads slower. I decided I would accept the challenge. You can do anything you put your mind to right!?? I'm going to do my best to read 10 pages a day, we will see how that goes haha. So anyway, the point of this blog is to just share interesting things I read or insights I have while I am reading. Feel free to comment and share your thoughts as well, I would love to hear them! :)
